Job Description

The company wishes to strengthen the management function at kayonza Growers Tea factory by recruiting a dynamic and self motivated individual to fill the post of General Manager.

The company hereby invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following position

Purpose of the Position.

The purpose of the General Manger position is to supervise and provide oversight directly for all operations of the factory company in the different departments and ensure maximization of outputs and profits for the benefit of all stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience.

Bachelors degree in Agriculture, Engineering, Food Science, Forestry, Business management, Economics or Human Resource, At Least 5 Years experience managing/Supervising in the Tea Industry or Agricultural production unit.

Key Responsibilities Will Include.

  • Leading in setting targets and coordinate the work of different heads to ensure achievements of those targets.
  • Leading the management team in developing corporate plans, annual operating plans and budgets as well as developing various strategies that unable target to be achieved.
  • Supervising HODs at the tea Factory and rating their performance.
  • Receiving and analyzing departmental reports for any necessary follow up actions/issues and provides appropriate feedback to the respective heads.
  • Ensure and foster good public relations with all shareholders of the company.
  • Facilitating the preparations and organizing of shareholders annual or special general meetings.
  • Participating where necessary in negotiating the terms of agreements on behalf of the Teac factory.
  • Over sees and approves procurement processes and actions of the procurement committee as it exercises its duties.
  • Carryout any other responsibilities as may be assigned to him/her by the chief Executive Officer.
